Thanksgiving Thoughts

OK, here goes....the first post on our blog.  And it's only fitting that it should be on Thanksgiving Day.  Where do I begin? We left Ft. Worth, TX on Sept. 30th pulling out of our driveway at 100 Yuchi Trl. N. for the last time.  It didn't really seem so difficult at the time, as we were heading to Davenport, Iowa to spend time with Austin, Katy and Lyric.  We enjoyed our time with them, meeting a few of their friends and worshiping at Harvest Church on Sunday.  Mike and I left there feeling very blessed and thankful for all God is doing in their lives.
Our next stop was the Horse Park in Lexington, Ky and for those of you who know me, you know I was on cloud nine!  The Park was hosting the World Equestrian Games so everybody that's anybody in the horse world was there....(Pat Parelli, John Lyons, Lynn Palm, etc.)  I was definitely in my element and I think Mike was having a good time too...
The next few days were spent driving through the Smoky Mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It was absolutely beautiful as the leaves were just beginning to change; something that we don't get to see much of in Texas.  We found a great resort place in the little town of Blowing Rock, N.C. and enjoyed it so much that we stayed there for two nights.  From there, we headed to our final destination; International Learning Center in Richmond, VA.
It's hard to believe we've been here almost seven weeks.  In just 2 weeks we will be saying good-bye to new friends and looking forward to spending our Christmas holidays with family and old friends.
God has taught me so much in the short time I've been here...and that's another whole blog.  It seems only fitting on this day of Thanksgiving to share some of the things that I am thankful for:
          *  a husband who loves his family and desires to be the spiritual leader of our home
          *  a son, daughter, and daughter-in-law who bless my life continually
          *  a grandson who is absolutely perfect....at least for now :)
          *  a godly mom who faithfully prays for us all
          *  faithful friends that walk with us on this journey
          *  God's grace - sufficient to meet every need in our life!
Wishing all of you a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!
